Fractional AI Lead — the AI hire you can't afford full-time.
Senior AI judgment embedded in your team. Weekly calls, async access, strategic decisions. The experience of a full-time AI lead at a fraction of the cost, for teams that need direction without a full hire.
What you get
Weekly 60-minute strategy call — agenda set by you, focused on your current AI priorities
Async access (Slack or email) for quick decisions, vendor questions, and architecture reviews — response within 24 hours on business days
AI vendor and tool evaluation — objective assessment when your team is evaluating new AI tools or providers
Technical direction for your internal team — code reviews, architecture feedback, and pairing sessions as needed
Monthly written summary of AI decisions made, rationale, and recommended next steps
Quarterly AI strategy review — what's working, what's not, where to invest next quarter
How it works
Onboarding (week 1)
Deep-dive session: your business, your team, your current AI stack, your goals for the next quarter. I read everything you send me — this session isn't about introductions, it's about getting to useful work fast.
Sprint planning (week 2)
Define the first sprint: specific initiatives, decision points where you need my input, and success criteria for month one.
Ongoing rhythm
Weekly call + async support. I attend relevant team meetings on request. I don't attend meetings for the sake of attendance — only where my input is useful.
Monthly review
Written summary of decisions, outcomes, and recommendations. Explicit discussion of what's working and what should change in the next month.
Quarterly strategy
Broader review: where has AI moved your metrics, what initiatives should be prioritized next quarter, and what team capability gaps need addressing.
FAQs
What is a fractional AI lead?
A fractional AI lead is a senior AI practitioner who works with your team part-time — typically weekly calls and async access — providing the strategic judgment, technical direction, and vendor evaluation that a full-time AI lead would provide. You get the expertise without the €150K+ salary.
What's the difference between a fractional AI lead and AI consulting?
Consulting is project-based: defined scope, defined deliverable, ends at handover. Fractional is ongoing: embedded in your team, advising on decisions as they arise. If you need someone to build a specific system, that's consulting. If you need ongoing AI leadership, that's fractional.
Who is this for?
Marketing teams that want to adopt AI but don't have internal AI expertise. Scale-ups that need AI direction but can't justify a full-time AI hire yet. Agencies building AI capabilities for clients. Anyone who needs consistent senior AI judgment without the full-time overhead.
How many hours per week does this represent?
Typically 4–6 hours per week — the weekly call, async responses, and review work. The fee is for outcomes and availability, not hours. If a specific week needs more because of a major vendor decision or architecture review, that's included.
What happens after the 3-month minimum?
Month-to-month with 30 days notice either side. No lock-in beyond the initial 3 months. The 3-month minimum exists because meaningful AI direction takes time to demonstrate results — one month is not enough to know if it's working.
